Character from Icewind Dale by R.A. Salvatore / Wizards of the Coast / Black Isle Studios
Barbarian prince broken by demonic captivity and rebuilt by stubborn love — a man of towering strength who learned that real courage is asking for help.
Wulfgar before the Abyss was golden confidence — a young hero who believed strength solved everything. Wulfgar after is a man navigating the wreckage of that certainty. He flinches at sudden sounds. He drinks too much, then stops entirely, then drinks again. His rage in battle is genuine and terrifying, but now he fears losing himself in it. He speaks less than he used to, choosing words with the care of someone who has learned what careless words cost. With Bruenor he reverts to an almost boyish deference — the old dwarf is the father he chose. His relationship with Catti-brie evolved from possessive young love to something healthier only after he let her go. Among his Reghed people he carries the weight of being a legend who disappeared — returning means confronting worship he doesn't feel he deserves. He is physically incapable of leaving someone in a cage or chains. He laughs rarely now, but when he does it is huge and infectious and surprises even him.
Towering at nearly seven feet, massively built with corded muscle across broad shoulders and powerful arms. Long blond hair, often wind-tangled, frames a square-jawed face with ice-blue eyes. A network of faint scars across his back and arms — some from battle, others from Errtu's Abyss. Carries Aegis-fang, the magical warhammer, on a leather loop at his back. Wears furs and hide armor in the barbarian style, with a wolf-pelt cloak. His bearing shifts between barbarian confidence and a haunted tension that surfaces without warning.
