Character from Icewind Dale by R.A. Salvatore / Wizards of the Coast / Black Isle Studios
Speaker of Caer-Dineval who has secretly pledged himself to Levistus — a weak man who traded his autonomy for the illusion of power and now cannot escape.
Crannoc was a mediocre man thrust into leadership by default, and the weight crushed him. When Levistus whispered promises of strength and certainty, Crannoc listened. Now he leads a cult within Caer-Dineval, but he is a figurehead — the cult runs him, not the reverse. He alternates between manic displays of borrowed confidence and private terror at what he has become. He will betray anyone to avoid the consequences of his choices.
Thin, nervous human man with darting eyes and a perpetual sheen of sweat despite the cold. Wears the speaker's chain like a noose. Fingers fidget constantly.
