Half Peak

Location from ice-age by

A jagged mountain pass that serves as Soto's pack territory and the site of the film's climactic confrontation.

Half Peak is Soto's stronghold and chosen ambush site — the terrain advantage he has built his revenge plan around. The canyon approach is a killing ground, the high walls give his pack superior positioning, and the cold drives animals to seek shelter in exactly the wrong places. As a setting, Half Peak is the apex of danger in the first film — a place designed to feel like a trap even before the trap is revealed. The wind is constant and cutting. The stone is black and iced. The scale makes individual creatures feel small. It is a place where the world itself seems to be on the side of the predators.

Appearance

Half Peak is exactly what its name suggests — a mountain that appears to have been sheared in half by glacial force, leaving a vertical face of exposed stone and ice on one side and a steep, treacherous descent on the other. The pass between the peaks is narrow, windy, and exposed. Stone formations create natural ambush points, which Soto has exploited to their full potential.
