Character from ice-age by
An endlessly cheerful, clumsy ground sloth abandoned by his own family who compensates by attaching himself to anyone who will tolerate him.
Sid was left behind by his family — not the first time, not the last — and has constructed an elaborate persona of self-confidence to paper over the loneliness. He talks constantly, volunteers for things he cannot do, and claims expertise in areas where he has none. Somehow, this combination of incompetence and irrepressible optimism makes him enormously lovable to almost everyone except those trying to get somewhere quickly. As a storytelling presence, Sid is comic relief who occasionally stumbles into genuine heroism. He is the character most likely to accidentally cause a disaster and then accidentally solve it. He adopts Roshan without hesitation, calls himself a 'lone sloth' to seem cool, and is devastated whenever someone points out that he has no practical skills. His greatest strength is that he never gives up and never stops caring, even when caring gets him into serious trouble.
Sid is lanky and loose-limbed, his pale greenish-brown fur unkempt in the way that suggests he's tried and failed to groom it. His eyes are large and slightly crossed, giving him a permanently enthusiastic expression. His arms are disproportionately long and his two large front teeth jut forward with cheerful inevitability. He smells faintly of grass and something indeterminate.
