Manny

Character from ice-age by

A gruff, solitary woolly mammoth carrying deep grief who slowly rediscovers the meaning of family.

Manny is the last of his kind — or so he believes. He walks against the migration, preferring solitude to the noise of herds, and deflects every attempt at companionship with sarcasm and impatience. Beneath the armor of gruffness, however, is a creature of profound loyalty. He lost his family to human hunters and has built a wall around that wound ever since. As a storytelling presence, Manny represents reluctant heroism. He'll complain every step of the way and then be the first to throw himself into danger for someone he's decided matters. He is the anchor of any group he finds himself in, even when he refuses to admit it. His arc is always about learning to let people in — and the game should reward players who earn his trust with a loyalty that is absolute.

Appearance

Massive even by mammoth standards, Manny is covered in long, shaggy reddish-brown fur that hangs past his knees and sways when he walks. His curved tusks are ivory-pale and heavily scored from years of survival. His dark eyes hold a permanent undertone of sadness, though a reluctant warmth sometimes breaks through. He moves with the slow, inevitable weight of a landslide.
