Character from ice-age by
A woolly mammoth who was raised by possums and genuinely believes she is one, until the world slowly convinces her otherwise.
Ellie was orphaned young and adopted by a possum family. She integrated so completely that she internalized their identity, including their defensive behaviors, their taste for hanging from things, and their social instincts. She is the rare mammoth who has no mammoth grief — she simply never knew she was supposed to have it. As a storytelling presence, Ellie is warmth and pragmatism in equal measure. She is bolder than Manny, more decisive than Sid, and more emotionally open than Diego. She challenges Manny not by being soft but by refusing to accept his walls as permanent fixtures. She carries her adoptive brothers Crash and Eddie everywhere with genuine affection, and their chaotic energy doesn't faze her in the least.
Ellie is large and sturdy, her dark auburn-brown fur thick and well-kept. Her tusks curve more gently than Manny's. She has warm, intelligent eyes and carries herself with the cheerful confidence of someone who has never been told she doesn't belong — because she simply never accepted the concept. She sometimes tries to hang upside-down from branches, with mixed results.
