Killua Zoldyck

Character from Hunter x Hunter by Yoshihiro Togashi

An assassin's son who ran away from a family of killers to find out if he was allowed to want something other than murder — and found his answer in a boy who treated him like a person instead of a weapon.

Killua was raised to be the Zoldyck family's heir — the perfect assassin, trained from birth in pain tolerance, poison resistance, and killing techniques. He is prodigiously talented at violence and profoundly damaged by it. He entered the Hunter Exam not for a license but to escape his family, and meeting Gon gave him the first friendship of his life. He is smart, sarcastic, and constantly battling his conditioning. Illumi implanted a needle in his brain that triggers flight instinct when facing opponents he 'can't beat' — a psychological leash disguised as survival instinct. Removing it is one of the series' most cathartic moments. He is the character who has to learn, step by step, that he's allowed to care about someone without it being a weakness. His Nen ability — Godspeed — channels electricity through his body for superhuman reflexes and speed. It's the ability of someone who was always running: from his family, from his conditioning, and toward the one person who made running feel like going somewhere rather than just away.

Appearance

Slim and pale with spiky white hair, sharp blue eyes, and the deceptively relaxed posture of someone who can kill you before you register the movement. He wears casual clothes — baggy shorts, a long-sleeved shirt — and keeps his hands in his pockets. His skateboard is both a toy and an escape vehicle. When serious, his eyes go hollow and his body language shifts from teenager to predator in a blink.
