The mother of the King — an enormous insect queen whose biological imperative to produce the perfect offspring triggered the most devastating arc in the series.
The Chimera Ant Queen washed ashore on the NGL coast and began a reproductive cycle that would change the world. She consumed humans and animals, incorporating their genetic traits into her offspring — each generation more intelligent, more powerful, and more human-like. Her ultimate creation was Meruem, the King, who killed her upon birth. Her dying wish — to know the name she'd given him — is the emotional seed of Meruem's entire arc. She named him Meruem ('the light that illuminates all'). He never learned this until it was too late.
A massive ant-like creature — several meters tall with a segmented body, multiple legs, and a humanoid upper section. She is visually monstrous in a way that her son (Meruem) is not, representing the raw biological horror of the Chimera Ants before they evolved toward humanity.
