Location from House of the Dragon by George R.R. Martin
A minor castle in the Crownlands. Site of the first great dragon battle of the Dance, where Rhaenys and Meleys were killed fighting Vhagar and Sunfyre.
Rook's Rest is a small, unremarkable castle that becomes the site of one of the most devastating battles in Westerosi history. The Greens, under Criston Cole's command, attack the castle to draw out a Black dragonrider. Rhaenys answers on Meleys, the Red Queen — and flies into a trap. Aemond on Vhagar and Aegon II on Sunfyre ambush her in the skies above the castle. The resulting battle kills Meleys and Rhaenys, badly burns Aegon II and cripples Sunfyre, and leaves the castle itself in ruins. The Battle of Rook's Rest proves that dragon-on-dragon combat is devastating for all participants — a lesson the Dance will teach again and again.
