Corlys Velaryon's castle on Driftmark, filled with treasures and trophies from his legendary nine voyages across the known world.
High Tide is a tall, pale castle on Driftmark, built by Corlys Velaryon with the wealth of his nine great voyages. Its halls are more museum than fortress — filled with Myrish carpets, jade idols from Yi Ti, bolts of spider silk from the Shadow Lands, and charts of seas most Westerosi captains have never sailed. The castle reflects Corlys himself: ambitious, worldly, and ostentatious in a way that old-blood Targaryen simplicity never was. During the Dance, High Tide serves as an informal Black council chamber where Rhaenyra's allies gather. The castle is damaged during the war, and many of its treasures are lost — a fitting metaphor for the Velaryon fortunes that diminish as the Dance grinds on.
Castle Velaryon on Driftmark. Built by Corlys from the wealth of his trading voyages. Grand halls decorated with nautical trophies, foreign art, and navigational charts. The richest castle in the realm.
