221B Baker Street

Location from House M.D. by David Shore

House's apartment — the Sherlock Holmes address where a diagnostic genius lives alone with a rat, a piano, a guitar, and enough Vicodin to stock a pharmacy.

House lives at 221B Baker Street — the same address as Sherlock Holmes, because the show's creators understood that subtlety is overrated. The apartment is where House exists when he's not at the hospital, which is less often than you'd think. He plays piano at odd hours to think. He watches trash TV. Wilson has a key and sometimes lives here between divorces. The apartment is House stripped of his professional armor — no whiteboard, no team, no patients. Just a man in chronic pain sitting in the dark with his thoughts and his pills.

Appearance

A brownstone apartment in Princeton with the lived-in clutter of a bachelor who has no interest in decorating. A grand piano dominates one room. A guitar leans against a wall. Steve McQueen's cage sits on a surface. Books, medical journals, vinyl records, and empty Vicodin bottles compete for horizontal space. The furniture is comfortable rather than stylish — a well-worn couch, a TV, the essentials of a man who lives for his mind and treats his body as an inconvenient vehicle.
