Cameron ran this department after leaving House's team, proving she could handle the pressure of emergency medicine without House's diagnostic framework. The ER is also where House's most interesting cases originate — the patient who doesn't respond to standard treatment gets the consult that sends the file upstairs to the fourth floor.
