PPTH Chapel

Location from House M.D. by David Shore

The hospital chapel where patients and families seek comfort and House occasionally shows up to argue with the concept of God.

The chapel exists in direct opposition to House's worldview. He's an aggressive atheist who reads religious texts specifically to find flaws in them. When he enters the chapel, it's usually to confront a patient or family member whose faith he sees as an obstacle to medical treatment. On rare occasions, he goes alone — not to pray, but to sit in the one room in the hospital that's designed for silence.

Appearance

A small, quiet room on the second floor with pews, soft lighting, and the interfaith decor of a hospital that serves everyone. Stained glass or colored panels let in diffused light. It's one of the few spaces in the hospital that isn't harsh fluorescent.
