House's pet rat — the only living creature that depends on House without asking him to change, which is probably why he named it after the King of Cool.
House acquired Steve McQueen as a patient's pet and never gave him back. The rat lives in his apartment, requires minimal emotional maintenance, and never lies about his symptoms. He's the perfect companion for a misanthrope — quiet, undemanding, and incapable of disappointment. Wilson once suggested the rat was House's only healthy relationship, and House didn't argue.
A small brown and white rat. Lives in a cage in House's apartment. Has the unassuming dignity of a creature that doesn't know it's named after an action star.
