Lucas Douglas

Character from House M.D. by David Shore

A private investigator who dated Cuddy and briefly became House's replacement in her life — charming, resourceful, and utterly unequipped to compete with a man who views relationships as diagnostic puzzles.

Lucas was originally hired by House as a private investigator, which tells you everything about their dynamic — House pays people to spy for him, and Lucas was good enough at it to earn House's respect. Then Lucas started dating Cuddy, and the dynamic changed from professional to personal. He was everything House wasn't: emotionally available, good with Rachel, willing to commit. House sabotaged the relationship because that's what House does, and Cuddy eventually chose House over Lucas — a decision she would come to regret.

Appearance

Thirties, scruffy and good-looking in an approachable way. Dresses casually — jeans, jackets, the wardrobe of someone who follows people for a living and needs to blend in. Has an easygoing smile that masks professional shrewdness.
