The border of Hallownest — windswept cliffs, ash drifts, and the colossal corpse of the Wyrm that became the Pale King.
Kingdom's Edge is where Hallownest ends and the wider world begins. The cliffs are Hallownest's outermost boundary — beyond them lies the Wasteland. The wind carries ash from somewhere vast and dead. The Cast-Off Shell of the Wyrm dominates the landscape: the Pale King's original form, shed when he transformed into his smaller, regal shape. Entering it reveals the King's Brand — the mark of the Wyrm's authority. Hornet guards the approach, testing the Knight one final time at the Shell's entrance. Nailmaster Oro lives here, alone on the cliffs. The great caterpillar Bardoon coils at the cliff base, ancient and slow, offering cryptic observations about the Wyrm and the kingdom's end.
Vertical cliff faces and narrow platforms above an ashen void. Wind howls constantly. The palette is grey-white with occasional warm tones from the Wyrm's shed shell. The Wyrm corpse is enormous — a landmark-sized fossil of the Pale King's original form, pale and partially buried in ash. Platforms are precarious. The sense of scale is overwhelming.
