Greenpath

Location from Hollow Knight by Team Cherry

A lush, acid-green wilderness sacred to the higher being Unn — where Hornet first tests the Knight and the living world pushes back against the dying one.

Greenpath is the game's first moment of beauty after the grey austerity of the Crossroads. The palette explodes into green, the music softens, and the world feels genuinely alive. It is sacred ground — the domain of Unn, a sleeping higher being whose dreaming sustains the plant life. The Mosskin tribe inhabits Greenpath, hostile to outsiders but protecting their territory rather than attacking randomly. Hornet appears here for the first time, testing the Knight in a fast, aggressive fight that teaches the player to dodge rather than tank. The acid lakes are beautiful and deadly. The platforming is precise. Greenpath teaches you that Hallownest's beauty is as dangerous as its darkness.

Appearance

Verdant caverns thick with vegetation — hanging vines, broad leaves, luminescent moss, and pools of bright green acid. The light is warm and filtered through plant life. Architecture is organic — buildings grown as much as built, shaped from living material by the Mosskin tribe. Shafts of golden-green light cut through the canopy. It feels alive in a way the Crossroads do not.
