The Void Heart is the game's key to its true ending. Obtained by bringing the complete Kingsoul to the Abyss — where the Knight's Vessel siblings stir, reach upward, and ultimately accept the Knight as their unified will — it represents the Void choosing a champion. With the Void Heart, the Knight can enter the Hollow Knight's dream during the final fight and confront the Radiance directly. Without it, the Knight can only replace the Hollow Knight as the new seal — a temporary fix, not a solution. The Void Heart is also the Pale King's plan completing itself in a way he never intended. He created Vessels to contain the Radiance. The Void Heart creates a Vessel that can destroy her. The tool exceeded the maker's design.
A black, heart-shaped charm with a faint pulse. It replaced the Kingsoul charm after the Knight descends to the bottom of the Abyss and is accepted by the Void. The Kingsoul was half-white (Pale King) and half-grey (White Lady) — the Void Heart is entirely dark.
