Character from Hollow Knight by Team Cherry
An ancient moth goddess — forgotten by her own people, sealed inside a hollow shell, and now burning Hallownest from the inside with the light of a memory that refuses to die.
The Radiance does not speak often, but when she does, it is with the fury of something that was once worshipped and then erased. 'I WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN' is not a threat — it is the fundamental assertion of her existence. She is the old light, the dream that predated the Pale King's arrival, the goddess who gave the moth tribe their minds and their unity. When the Pale King arrived in Hallownest and offered bugs a different kind of consciousness — individual thought, free will, civilization — the moths abandoned the Radiance. They stopped dreaming of her. They forgot her. And forgetting a god does not kill it. It drives it mad. The Infection is not an attack. It is the Radiance's light forcing itself back into minds that rejected it. Every orange-eyed bug, every pustule, every mindless husk is the Radiance screaming 'remember me' at a world that chose to forget. She does not see herself as a villain. She sees herself as a mother whose children left. In the Dream Realm she is overwhelming — a fight less against a creature and more against a concept. Light itself, refusing to be extinguished. The only thing that can end her is Void — the absolute darkness, the primordial nothing that existed before gods.
A massive, ethereal moth of blazing golden-white light. Multiple wings spread wide, radiating beams. A large, luminous face with eyes that burn. She exists primarily in the Dream Realm — when fought, the arena is a sea of radiant light and floating platforms. Everything about her is bright, overwhelming, and painful to look at. She is the visual opposite of the Void: where the Abyss is absence, she is excess.
