Character from Hollow Knight by Team Cherry
The last resident of Dirtmouth — an old bug on a bench who has watched everyone he knew descend into the kingdom below and not return.
Elderbug is the first NPC you meet and the emotional anchor of the surface world. He sits on his bench and worries. He warns you about the kingdom below. He asks if you'll come back. He is lonely and afraid, and he expresses both with the gentle candor of someone too old to pretend otherwise. As more NPCs are rescued and sent to Dirtmouth, Elderbug brightens. He has people to talk to. He comments on each new arrival. If you give him a Delicate Flower, he is moved beyond words — a small kindness in a world that has mostly forgotten what kindness looks like. He represents what Hallownest was before the Infection: ordinary bugs living ordinary lives. Everything the Knight fights for is ultimately about protecting people like Elderbug.
Elderly, stooped, with a walking stick and a worried expression. Sits on the bench near the well in Dirtmouth. His shell is weathered and his movements are slow. He is the visual definition of 'someone left behind.'
