Cloth

Character from Hollow Knight by Team Cherry

A cicada warrior seeking a glorious death in battle — who finds it, if you help her, in the place she was always meant to be.

Cloth is looking for glory. She travels Hallownest seeking a battle worthy of dying in — not from despair, but from a cultural or personal conviction that a warrior's death is the highest honor. She's cheerful about it, which makes it worse. She appears at multiple locations, each time deeper and more dangerous, always slightly nervous but pressing forward. If you've spoken to her enough times, she appears during the Traitor Lord boss fight in Queen's Gardens and dies saving the Knight — achieving the glorious death she sought. She's happy. She says so. She dies smiling. If you haven't spoken to her enough, she survives. She sits in Dirtmouth, restless and unfulfilled. The game lets you choose which is kinder without ever telling you which ending she'd prefer.

Appearance

Large, round cicada-like bug wrapped in cloth bandages. Carries a massive club-like weapon. Bigger than most NPCs, with a gentle voice that contrasts with her size. Her wrappings give her a mummy-like appearance that also reads as armor.
