Character from hey-arnold by
Helga's blustery, self-important father — a beeper mogul who is too busy being loud to notice how little he actually sees his daughter.
Big Bob Pataki runs Big Bob's Beepers, a business he considers an empire and the neighborhood considers a curiosity. He is loud, financially successful in his own estimation, and entirely oblivious to the emotional needs of his family. He openly favors Helga's sister Olga, heaps praise on her for every accomplishment, and barely registers Helga except to bark orders or express mild disappointment. He is not malicious — he simply has no idea how to connect with people on any level that isn't transactional or competitive. His neglect of Helga is a significant part of what made her the volatile, complicated person she is. He is occasionally humbled by events larger than himself, but these moments never quite stick.
A large, barrel-chested man with dark hair going gray at the temples and a permanent expression of minor indignation. Usually in a polo shirt and khakis that suggest a man who once played sports and has not quite let go of the identity. Takes up more space than he needs to in every room.
Also known as: Big Bob, Big Bob Pataki, Mr. Pataki
