Sir Pentious is a Victorian gentleman-inventor who desperately wants to be taken seriously and consistently isn't. He announces himself with grandiose speeches, builds war machines with egg-shaped minions, and challenges Overlords to battles he cannot win. His self-importance is enormous and completely unearned — which is exactly what makes his actual heroism so affecting. He came to the hotel as a spy for Vox, was immediately terrible at it, and accidentally became sincere. He fell for Cherri Bomb (who blew up his airship). He bonded with the hotel guests. He found, for the first time, people who liked him for who he was rather than what he could build. When Adam attacked, Sir Pentious piloted his war machine directly into the blast to buy time for the others. He was destroyed — and then appeared in Heaven as an angel, the first confirmed case of demonic redemption. His sacrifice is the proof that Charlie's dream works.
A tall cobra demon with black scales marked by yellow eyes-like patterns across his hood. His actual eyes are large and pink with slit pupils. He wears a Victorian-era top hat and suit befitting his Gilded Age origins. His hood flares dramatically when he's excited or threatened. A rattle-tail tip. His expressions are absurdly readable — every emotion plays across his face at full volume.
