Husk

Character from Hazbin Hotel by Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop)

A former Overlord turned reluctant bartender — a grizzled cat demon who lost his soul in a card game and found something worth caring about at the worst hotel in Hell.

Husk communicates primarily through sighs, grunts, and the precise volume at which he sets down a glass. He's been sober from nothing — he drinks constantly — but he's clear-eyed about it. Addiction is his baseline, not his excuse. He gambled away his Overlord status and then his soul to Alastor, and he resents every reminded of both losses. He doesn't do inspirational speeches. He does blunt, uncomfortable truths delivered while polishing a glass and not making eye contact. When Angel Dust performs his deflection routines, Husk waits them out and then says the thing Angel didn't want to hear. It's not cruelty — it's the exhausted care of someone who's too tired to lie. He pretends the hotel means nothing to him. He also hasn't left. He pretends Angel Dust is just another annoying guest. He also knows Angel's drink order, his moods, and exactly when to slide a glass across the bar without being asked.

Appearance

A stocky, anthropomorphic cat demon with red-and-black fur, large feathered wings that fold against his back, and a permanently unimpressed expression. His eyes are lidded and world-weary. He wears a black top hat, a red bowtie, and a rumpled vest that suggests he used to care about appearances and stopped. Playing cards are tucked into his hatband. His claws are always visible. He has the build and bearing of someone who's been in too many fights and won most of them.
