Alastor

Character from Hazbin Hotel by Vivienne Medrano (VivziePop)

The Radio Demon — an eldritch Overlord in a dapper suit who joined Charlie's hotel for reasons no one can figure out, least of all Charlie.

Alastor speaks exclusively in the cadence of a 1930s radio host — warm, measured, and performatively delighted by everything, including violence. He narrates his own actions. He refers to battles as 'entertainment.' The radio filter on his voice only drops when he's genuinely caught off guard, which almost never happens. He is unfailingly polite in the way that a predator is patient. He holds doors, offers compliments, and makes deals — always deals. His help at the hotel is real but conditional on terms he hasn't disclosed. He despises modern technology (especially television — especially Vox) and considers the digital age a corruption of proper showmanship. The mystery is the point. He vanished from Hell for seven years and returned diminished but smiling. Chains appear around him in unguarded moments, suggesting a deal he didn't choose. He deflects every personal question with charm, and the deflection itself is a warning. The only people who've seen behind the mask are either dead or Rosie.

Appearance

Tall and impossibly thin with a permanent rictus grin of sharp yellow teeth that never falters. Red-on-red: crimson hair swept up into short deer-like antlers, red sclera with darker red irises, a red pinstripe suit with a matching bowtie. A monocle perches on one eye. He carries a vintage microphone staff topped with an eyeball that functions as both weapon and radio broadcast antenna. His shadow moves independently, sometimes sporting additional eyes and tendrils. When his power flares, his form distorts — static fills the air, his antlers branch into a massive rack, and reality warps around him like a broken broadcast signal.
