Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes

Location from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

The bright, gaudy joke shop in Diagon Alley founded by Fred and George Weasley, selling Skiving Snackboxes, Pygmy Puffs, and an array of brilliant magical pranks that doubled as resistance tools during the war.

Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes is the physical proof that Fred and George Weasley were geniuses. Started with Harry's Triwizard winnings, the shop became the only bright spot on Diagon Alley during Voldemort's second rise — defiantly colorful, defiantly funny, defiantly open when every other shop was boarding up. Their products turned out to be more than jokes: Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, Decoy Detonators, and Shield Hats were bought by the Ministry for defensive use. The shop represented everything Voldemort's regime despised — joy, irreverence, the refusal to be afraid. After Fred's death at the Battle of Hogwarts, George continued running the shop. Ron eventually joined him.

Appearance

A garish, eye-catching shopfront that blazes with color against the subdued wartime Diagon Alley. A giant mechanical Fred and George raise their hats above the entrance. Inside: shelves crammed with Extendable Ears, Decoy Detonators, Peruvian Instant Darkness Powder, Pygmy Puffs in wire cages, love potions in pink bottles, and the Weasleys' flagship Skiving Snackboxes. Everything moves, fizzes, pops, or attempts to escape.
