St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries

Location from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

The wizarding world's main hospital in London, hidden behind the window of a defunct Muggle department store, treating everything from spell damage to creature bites to permanent curse injuries.

St Mungo's is where the wizarding world sends the things Madam Pomfrey can't fix. Its Healers handle the worst magical injuries imaginable — curse damage that won't heal, transfiguration accidents, dragon burns, and long-term spell damage that leaves patients permanently altered. The Janus Thickey Ward houses those who will never leave, including Neville Longbottom's parents Frank and Alice, tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange and three other Death Eaters using the Cruciatus Curse. Neville visits them at Christmas. His mother gives him Drooble's Best Blowing Gum wrappers each time, and he keeps every one. Arthur Weasley was treated here after Nagini's attack, cheerfully experimenting with Muggle stitches to his Healers' horror.

Appearance

Accessed by speaking to a dummy in the window of Purge and Dowse Ltd, a boarded-up Muggle department store. Inside, a reception area opens into wards organized by ailment: Creature-Induced Injuries, Magical Bugs, Potion and Plant Poisoning, Spell Damage, and the long-term Janus Thickey Ward. Healers in lime-green robes bustle between patients. The decor is clinical but magical — self-updating charts, floating clipboards, and beds that adjust themselves.
