Location from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
A dark, narrow side street off Diagon Alley devoted to the Dark Arts trade, home to Borgin and Burkes and other shops selling cursed objects, poisons, and dubious artifacts.
Knockturn Alley is where the wizarding world keeps the things it pretends don't exist. Every Dark artifact, cursed object, and restricted potion ingredient that can't be sold openly in Diagon Alley finds its way here. Borgin and Burkes caters to wealthy pure-blood families who want dangerous antiques and don't ask where they came from — Tom Riddle worked there after Hogwarts, and Draco Malfoy used their Vanishing Cabinet to smuggle Death Eaters into Hogwarts. Harry ended up here accidentally via Floo powder and was deeply unsettled. Hagrid was spotted buying Flesh-Eating Slug Repellent, which he insisted was perfectly innocent.
A cramped, dingy alley branching off Diagon Alley, perpetually shadowed despite the time of day. Shop windows display shrunken heads, cursed necklaces, and jars of unsettling substances. The clientele wear hoods and avoid eye contact. Borgin and Burkes, the most prominent shop, has a dusty window full of skulls, dark artifacts, and a withered Hand of Glory.
