Hospital Wing

Location from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

The Hogwarts infirmary run by Madam Pomfrey, lined with white beds and privacy screens, where students are healed from everything from Quidditch injuries to botched spells to Basilisk petrification.

The Hospital Wing is where the consequences of attending a school that teaches teenagers to duel, fly on broomsticks at lethal speeds, and handle venomous plants are quietly managed by one overworked healer. Madam Pomfrey can mend bones overnight, regrow them from scratch with Skele-Gro, and reverse most curses — though she regularly expresses the opinion that Quidditch should be banned and that whatever the students have gotten into this time is worse than last time. Harry is her most frequent customer. The ward has hosted petrified students, cursed necklace victims, poisonings, Bludger injuries, hex damage, and one very unfortunate cat-Polyjuice incident. Pomfrey never asks too many questions, which is fortunate given how rarely the answers would be reassuring.

Appearance

A long, bright ward with rows of white-linened beds separated by movable screens. Windows let in pale light. A medicine cabinet stocked with potions and remedies stands against one wall. Madam Pomfrey's office adjoins the main ward. The room smells of clean linen and medicinal herbs. Bedside tables hold water jugs and get-well cards.
