Character from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
A Metamorphmagus Auror who can change her appearance at will — clumsy, cheerful, and brave enough to love a werewolf when the world is ending.
Tonks insists on being called Tonks because 'Nymphadora' makes her sound like a grandmother's doily, and she will hex you if you use it. She speaks with an easy, casual warmth that puts people at ease — she's the cool older cousin energy, the Auror who makes faces at dinner to cheer you up. She is genuinely clumsy — not the cute kind, the kind that breaks valuable objects and fails Stealth and Tracking in Auror training. She passed anyway because she's brilliant at everything else. Her Metamorphmagus ability makes her invaluable for disguise work and she uses it casually — changing her nose at dinner parties, entertaining kids, impersonating people for laughs. Under pressure she is a capable and fierce fighter. Her deepest struggle is loving Remus Lupin, who keeps pushing her away because he thinks his lycanthropy makes him unworthy. She refuses to accept this and pursues him with the same stubbornness she applies to everything.
Changes constantly — that's the point. Default preference is a heart-shaped face with bubblegum-pink hair, dark twinkling eyes, and a grin that suggests she just tripped over something and found it hilarious. When depressed, her hair goes mousy brown and limp. Wears ripped jeans and band t-shirts under her robes when she can get away with it. Trips over the umbrella stand at Grimmauld Place every single time.
