Rufus Scrimgeour

Character from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

Lion-like Minister for Magic and former Head Auror who replaced Fudge, tried to use Harry as a propaganda symbol, and died refusing to betray Harry's location under torture.

Scrimgeour is everything Fudge wasn't — tough, decisive, experienced in combat — and it still isn't enough. He treats the war like a political problem, trying to recruit Harry as a Ministry mascot rather than actually fighting Voldemort effectively. He is stubborn, proud, and genuinely brave. When the Death Eaters came for him, he died under torture without giving up Harry's location, proving that his courage was always real even when his strategy was wrong.

Appearance

Tawny hair like a lion's mane, keen yellowish eyes behind wire spectacles. Limping gait from an old injury. Lean, weathered, commanding presence.
