Hospital Wing

Location from harry-potter-prisoner-of-azkaban by

The Hogwarts infirmary where Harry recovers from Dementor attacks, Madam Pomfrey administers chocolate with medicinal authority, and Dumbledore gives Hermione the cryptic hint that saves two lives.

The Hospital Wing sees more of Harry this year than usual. He's brought here after fainting on the Hogwarts Express, after falling off his broomstick during the Dementor-invaded Quidditch match, and after the events at the Shrieking Shack. Madam Pomfrey treats Dementor exposure with enormous quantities of chocolate and the professional exasperation of someone who has told Dumbledore that Dementors near a school is unconscionable. It's in the Hospital Wing that Dumbledore visits Harry and Hermione and gives his cryptic instruction about the Time-Turner. Ron lies in a nearby bed with a broken leg from being dragged through the Whomping Willow tunnel. Snape is unconscious on a stretcher. And Sirius Black is locked in a room upstairs, awaiting the Dementor's Kiss. The Hospital Wing is where the time-loop begins and where it ends — Harry and Hermione slip out with the Time-Turner, change three hours of history, and return before anyone notices they've gone.

Appearance

A long, bright ward with rows of white-linened beds separated by movable screens. Windows let in pale light. A medicine cabinet stocked with potions and remedies stands against one wall. Bedside tables hold water jugs and towers of chocolate — Madam Pomfrey's standard prescription for Dementor exposure.
