Character from harry-potter-prisoner-of-azkaban by
Hogwarts' formidable matron who patches up Dementor exposure, Quidditch injuries, and Hippogriff scratches with equal competence and equal disapproval of whatever caused them.
Madam Pomfrey runs the hospital wing like a benevolent dictator — no visitors, no noise, no leaving until she says so. This year she treats Harry after his Dementor-induced collapse on the train, after his fall from his broomstick during the Quidditch match when Dementors invade the pitch, and after the events at the Shrieking Shack. She administers chocolate for Dementor exposure — the standard treatment — with the brisk authority of someone who has dealt with worse and will tolerate no nonsense about it. She cares fiercely about her patients while loudly blaming them for getting hurt.
Neat, prim, white apron over her robes. Crisp manner, pursed lips. Carries her wand like a surgical instrument. Middle-aged, efficient, no-nonsense.
