Percy Weasley

Character from harry-potter-prisoner-of-azkaban by

The most ambitious Weasley, now Head Boy and determined to prove he's destined for the Ministry, pompous enough to lecture anyone within earshot about proper conduct.

Percy desperately wants to be taken seriously and mistakes rigidity for maturity. He is intelligent and hardworking but lacks the self-awareness to see how insufferable he's become. This year he's Head Boy and takes the position with a gravity that suggests he's been appointed Minister for Magic rather than given prefect duties with a bigger badge. He lectures Fred and George constantly, patrols corridors with theatrical authority, and writes long letters about cauldron bottom thickness that no one reads. He gave Scabbers to Ron when he got a new owl as a reward for becoming prefect — unknowingly passing Peter Pettigrew down the family line. Percy has no idea his old pet is a mass murderer in disguise, and honestly, the irony would be lost on him even if he knew.

Appearance

Tall, thin, red hair like all Weasleys. Horn-rimmed glasses, perpetually neat robes. Ramrod posture, pompous expression. His Head Boy badge is polished to a mirror shine and positioned for maximum visibility.

Also known as: Percy, Perce, Percy Weasley
