The Hospital Wing is where the consequences of Hogwarts adventures are treated. Harry ends up here after his confrontation with Quirrell and Voldemort, unconscious for three days. He wakes to find Dumbledore at his bedside, surrounded by enough Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's Beans to fill several pillowcases. Dumbledore answers Harry's questions — about the Stone (destroyed), about Flamel (accepted death), about why Quirrell couldn't touch him (Lily's love) — and dodges one question entirely: what Dumbledore sees in the Mirror of Erised. Madam Pomfrey fusses and frets and tries to limit visitors. She does not entirely succeed.
A long, bright ward with rows of white-linened beds separated by movable screens. Windows let in pale light. A medicine cabinet stocked with potions and remedies stands against one wall. The room smells of clean linen and medicinal herbs. Bedside tables hold water jugs and get-well cards and, in Harry's case, an alarming pile of sweets from his classmates.
