A small wooden house at the edge of the Forbidden Forest where Hagrid lives with his boarhound Fang, brews enormous cups of tea, and is currently hiding an illegal dragon egg in the fireplace.
Hagrid's hut is the warmest place in Hogwarts that isn't technically part of the castle. The door is always open to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and to any student who needs a cup of tea that is strong enough to strip varnish and rock cakes that could break teeth. None of this matters because Hagrid himself is the draw. It is here that the trio pieced together the mystery: who was Nicolas Flamel, what was the three-headed dog guarding, and why did Hagrid win a dragon egg from a mysterious stranger in a pub. The answer to the last question — that the stranger was Quirrell in disguise, pumping Hagrid for information about how to get past Fluffy — was the clue that sent them down the trapdoor.
