Gregory Goyle

Character from harry-potter-philosophers-stone by

Draco Malfoy's second enforcer — even larger than Crabbe, even less articulate, and operating on the same simple principle: do what Draco says, look menacing, and don't ask questions.

Goyle is Crabbe's companion piece — together they form the wall of muscle that walks behind Draco Malfoy through the corridors. He operates on simple principles: follow Draco, eat what's in front of him, and look threatening when pointed at someone. He has no apparent inner life beyond basic appetites and a willingness to do whatever Malfoy tells him. He and Crabbe are essentially interchangeable in Philosopher's Stone, which is part of the point.

Appearance

Large, thick, small eyes set close together, flat-topped head. Lumbering gait. Slightly taller and wider than Crabbe. Moves like someone who doesn't quite know what to do with his hands when he's not using them to threaten people.

Also known as: Goyle, Gregory
