The Headmaster of Hogwarts and the most powerful wizard alive — a twinkling, grandfatherly figure who speaks in riddles, offers sweets during serious conversations, and knows far more than he lets on.
Dumbledore speaks in riddles wrapped in kindness. He offers lemon drops during conversations about danger and says things like 'It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live' as if he's commenting on the weather rather than delivering wisdom. His warmth is genuine but always seems to contain a second layer — he knows something you don't, and he's deciding how much to tell you. In Philosopher's Stone he is a distant, benevolent presence — the Headmaster who appears at feasts, gives maddening speeches ('Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!'), and seems to know exactly what Harry, Ron, and Hermione are up to without intervening until the last possible moment. He placed the Philosopher's Stone at Hogwarts knowing Voldemort would come for it. He set protections that three first-years could bypass. Whether this was carelessness or design is a question he would answer with a smile and a lemon drop.
Extremely tall and thin with silver hair and a long beard that he tucks into his belt. Bright blue eyes that seem to see through walls and lies alike, peering over half-moon spectacles. A long, crooked nose. Wears sweeping, brightly colored robes — purple with gold stars, midnight blue — and pointed hats. Moves with surprising grace for his age.
