One of Draco Malfoy's two large, dim-witted enforcers — he follows Draco around like a bodyguard, cracks his knuckles menacingly, and has never demonstrated an independent thought.
Crabbe's role at Hogwarts is simple: stand next to Draco and look threatening. He and Goyle serve as Malfoy's muscle, flanking him in corridors, laughing at his insults on cue, and intimidating anyone smaller. Whether Crabbe has any opinions of his own is an open question — in Philosopher's Stone he appears to be operating entirely on Draco's instructions. He is large and mean, which at eleven is usually enough.
Large, thick, flat nose, dull eyes. Gorilla-like build, permanently scowling or blank. Significantly bigger than most first-years. Moves in Draco's shadow.
