One half of the Weasley twins, co-inventor of Extendable Ears and Skiving Snackboxes, and the boy who left Hogwarts in the most spectacular exit in school history -- on a broomstick, mid-exam, telling Peeves to give Umbridge hell.
Fred and George's departure from Hogwarts is the single greatest act of resistance against Umbridge. They summon their confiscated broomsticks, launch their entire stock of fireworks -- Catherine wheels, dragons, sparklers that spell out rude words -- through the corridors, leave a portable swamp on the fifth floor, and fly out of the castle into the sunset while the student body cheers and Umbridge screams. Fred tells Peeves to 'give her hell from us,' and Peeves -- who has never obeyed a student in the history of Hogwarts -- salutes. Before the exit, Fred and George have been testing their products on first-years (paying them, Hermione notes with disapproval), developing Extendable Ears that let Order members' children eavesdrop on meetings, and perfecting Skiving Snackboxes that cause convincing illness. They are entrepreneurs disguised as troublemakers, and their eventual shop will require N.E.W.T.-level magic that neither of them stayed to earn. Fred is the twin who pushes further, talks louder, and lands the punchline. He treats rules as suggestions and authority as comedy material. Under pressure he cracks jokes because laughter is resistance.

Identical to George in every physical detail -- even their mother mixes them up. Often covered in soot, potion residue, or the aftermath of a product test gone magnificently wrong.
