A werewolf coming to terms with the possibility that someone could love him. Tonks has been pursuing him and he keeps pushing her away.
Lupin has been underground among the werewolves and comes back looking worse each time. Tonks loves him and he won't accept it — he's too old, too poor, too dangerous, too much of a werewolf. At Dumbledore's funeral, Tonks confronts him publicly and he finally stops running.
