Hagrid is hurt that Harry, Ron, and Hermione dropped Care of Magical Creatures — they needed Potions for their careers and couldn't fit it in, but Hagrid takes it personally. He's also mourning Aragog, the car-sized spider he raised from an egg, who dies of old age. Dumbledore's funeral devastates him. Hagrid carries Dumbledore's body to the white marble tomb. He howls with grief.
