The Portkey — an old boot on the hill — takes them to the World Cup campsite, where Arthur Weasley attempts to set up a Muggle tent and Harry experiences the wizarding world's largest sporting event for the first time. The joy of the World Cup is shattered by the Dark Mark cast over the campsite — the skull and serpent in the sky that sends the crowd into panic and marks the beginning of everything that follows.
