Harry's summer at Privet Drive begins with a diet — the Dursleys are restricting Dudley's food intake after the school nurse's report, and Harry is collateral damage. His friends send birthday cakes and food by owl, and the Dursleys hate every delivery. The Weasleys arrive to collect Harry for the Quidditch World Cup by Floo powder, which Arthur Weasley does not realize requires an open fireplace. The electric fire explodes outward, the living room fills with soot and Weasleys, and Dudley eats a Ton-Tongue Toffee that Fred 'accidentally' drops. It is the most exciting thing to happen at Privet Drive since the Masons' dinner party.
