A small Muggle village dominated by the derelict Riddle House — where Voldemort hides with Pettigrew and Nagini, and where the graveyard holds the bones that will fuel his resurrection.
Little Hangleton is where everything converges. The Riddle House — where Voldemort murdered his Muggle father and grandparents decades ago — now shelters his wretched proto-form, fed on Nagini's venom while Pettigrew tends to him like a reluctant nursemaid. The old Muggle caretaker Frank Bryce investigates lights in the house and is killed for overhearing the plan. The graveyard is the destination of the Portkey. When Harry and Cedric touch the Triwizard Cup, they are pulled across hundreds of miles to land among the tombstones. 'Kill the spare,' Voldemort says, and Cedric dies instantly. Harry is bound to Tom Riddle Sr's headstone and forced to watch the ritual: bone of the father, flesh of the servant, blood of the enemy. Voldemort rises from the cauldron, white and terrible and whole, and summons his Death Eaters for the first time in thirteen years. The graveyard becomes a stage for his triumph — and for his first failure, when Harry's wand connects with his and the echoes of his victims emerge to help the boy escape.
A quiet English village in a valley, overlooked by the Riddle House on the hillside — grand but derelict, shuttered, its garden overgrown. The village church has a graveyard where the Riddle family headstone stands among the yew trees. The graveyard is dark, enclosed by a low wall, with the marble headstone of Tom Riddle Sr prominent enough to serve as a binding post for a ritual. A full-sized cauldron has been prepared. The bones in the grave have been measured.
