The vast Hogwarts library — where Hermione researches spells for the Tournament tasks, where Viktor Krum sits near her table with suspicious frequency, and where the Restricted Section holds answers to questions nobody should be asking.
The library is Hermione's headquarters for Tournament preparation. She researches the Summoning Charm, the Bubblehead Charm, gillyweed properties, and every other spell Harry might need to survive tasks he wasn't meant to face. She is there so often that Viktor Krum starts appearing at nearby tables, working up the nerve to talk to her, surrounded by a giggling fan club of girls who followed him in and are pretending to study. Ron's reaction to Krum's library visits is 'he's just looking at her,' delivered with an intensity that suggests Ron is doing quite a lot of looking himself.
Thousands of shelves in towering rows, lit by lamps on each table. Madam Pince patrols the aisles. The Restricted Section lurks behind a rope at the back. Viktor Krum has begun frequenting the library with an intensity that has nothing to do with Durmstrang homework and everything to do with the bushy-haired Gryffindor who always has the best table by the window.
