The Hogwarts infirmary — working overtime this year with Tournament injuries, including dragon burns, prolonged underwater exposure, and one champion who returns from the maze carrying a dead boy.
The Hospital Wing sees more traffic this year than in most. After the first task, champions are treated for dragon burns and general trauma. After the second task, hypothermia and Grindylow injuries. The wing is where Hermione's hex-enlarged teeth are fixed, where Harry recovers after each ordeal, and — at the year's end — where Harry lies after the graveyard, trying to process that Cedric is dead and Voldemort is alive. It is in the hospital wing that Fudge brings a Dementor to administer the Kiss to Barty Crouch Jr, destroying the only witness to Voldemort's return. The argument between Dumbledore and Fudge that follows — the Minister's refusal to believe, Dumbledore's cold fury — happens at Harry's bedside while the boy who lived through the graveyard lies there listening to the adults fail.
A long, bright ward with rows of white-linened beds. Madam Pomfrey's domain. Medicine cabinets stocked with burn paste, Skele-Gro, and remedies for injuries the matron should not have to deal with but does annually. Privacy screens surround the beds of Tournament casualties.
