Dumbledore's circular sanctum at the top of the moving staircase — where Harry is brought after the graveyard, where Crouch Jr's disguise fails, and where the truth about Voldemort's return is first spoken aloud.
The Headmaster's office is where Harry accidentally discovers the Pensieve and falls into Dumbledore's memories — seeing courtroom scenes from the first war, Karkaroff naming names, and the trial where Barty Crouch Jr was sentenced to Azkaban while screaming his innocence. These memories will make sense only in retrospect. It is also where the year's final revelations unfold. After the graveyard, after Cedric's death, Harry is brought here and Barty Crouch Jr — his Polyjuice wearing off, his true face emerging — confesses everything. The office that has seen so many carefully managed conversations becomes the setting for the rawest truth of the year: Voldemort is back, a boy is dead, and the war has started again.
A large circular room accessed by a spiral staircase triggered by a candy password. Portraits of every previous Headmaster line the walls. Delicate silver instruments whir and puff smoke. Fawkes the phoenix sits on his golden perch. The Pensieve sits in a black cabinet — Harry falls into it accidentally this year, witnessing Dumbledore's memories of Death Eater trials including Karkaroff's testimony and the Longbottoms' attackers. The Sorting Hat rests on a shelf. The room smells of phoenix feathers and old secrets.
