Character from harry-potter-goblet-of-fire by
Wormtail — the traitor who betrayed the Potters, now serving as Voldemort's miserable attendant, nursing the Dark Lord back to a body with one hand and sacrificing the other to complete the ritual.
Pettigrew spent twelve years as a rat and now serves as nursemaid to a creature that barely qualifies as alive. He feeds Voldemort Nagini's venom, carries the dark fetal thing from place to place, and performs the servile tasks of keeping the Dark Lord functional while praying for the day he'll be rewarded instead of punished. He murdered Frank Bryce on Voldemort's orders — the Muggle caretaker of the Riddle House who heard too much. In the graveyard he performs the ritual: bone of the father, unknowingly taken; flesh of the servant, willingly given; blood of the enemy, forcibly taken. He cuts off his own hand with a silver knife and drops it into the cauldron. Voldemort rises and gives Pettigrew a new silver hand as a reward, and Pettigrew's gratitude is so pathetic it barely registers as human. He is loyal to power and terrified of everything, and both of these things make him exactly the servant Voldemort deserves.
Small, watery eyes, pointed nose, thinning colorless hair. Rat-like features. Missing a finger on one hand — the finger he cut off to fake his own death and frame Sirius. After the graveyard ritual: missing an entire hand, which he cut off as 'flesh of the servant.' Voldemort replaces it with a silver magical hand. Hunched, twitchy posture. Perpetually flinching.
