Seamus joined the Dumbledore's Army resistance at Hogwarts alongside Neville, enduring the Carrows' punishments for refusing to torture fellow students. His talent for accidentally causing explosions became intentionally useful -- he helped blow up the covered bridge during the Battle of Hogwarts, cutting off the Snatchers' approach. He is blunt, hot-tempered, and honest. He doubted Harry in fifth year because his mam told him the Daily Prophet was right, and he said so to Harry's face rather than whispering. When he realized he was wrong he came back just as loudly. He fights in the final battle without hesitation.
